Siberian Pea Shrub

(Caragana arborescens)A leguminous perennial shrub that grows to heights of 12 feet or more. Early settlers carried this with them as a food source. Young pods and seeds are eaten fresh; dried seeds can be cooked like dried peas. The Siberian Peashrub produces beautiful yellow flowers during the spring and summer.
